Who Is This?
My name is Michael. I am (currently) an Identity Engineer by trade, an adjunct professor teaching IT, and a nerd at heart. Here you will find all of the tech-related things I've learned and found incredibly beneficial to my career, particularly fun or interesting, helpful in my personal life, and worth sharing to whomever may be interested.
While Identity & Access Management is the niche I've grown to love, I have years of experience working with many different aspects of Information Technology. You can expect more career-driven topics like automation (heavily PowerShell), Windows Server and Linux management, and cloud engineering, as well as miscellaneous topics like home automation and homelabbing.
Why Am I Doing This?
I'd be lying if I said this site wasn't in-part a resume builder. (Hello recruiters reading this)
The reason I am commiting to maintaining this site and posting original content regularly is to help others learn. It is the same reason I seek teaching opportunities in my free time. If you've been in IT long enough, you've encountered that one person who knows everything, takes ownership over an important process, gatekeeps that knowledge and then retires or leaves and suddenly you and your team are thrust into a position that is doomed from the start. I've been there, and it is what made me so passionate about making education and documentation a non-negotiable part of my job description wherever I go. I vowed to never be the one that leaves a team unable to manage something, even if I was the only one responsible for it. This site is my way of pushing that vow out further than my collegues and students to you, the reader, wherever you may be.
